LEARNING AT WORK WEEK: 27 WATER COLLEAGUES ACHIEVE DIPLOMAS
We have helped 27 of our people achieve diplomas that will help them to progress their careers.
Sewerage Maintenance Operatives, Technical Support Advisors, and Developer Service employees across the business were keen to widen their knowledge and have worked through an 18-month programme. The training has helped them to achieve the balance of people and technical skills needed to do their jobs to the highest levels, as well as delivering excellent customer service.
The Level 3 Diploma in Water Engineering – Waste Water Network is part of an ongoing programme of learning and covered areas such as water science, plant engineering, operation and maintenance, industry legislation, environmental obligations, health and safety, and customer service.
Mike Madine, Head of Wastewater Networks and Developer Services, said: “The programme has been a great opportunity to really stretch our teams to learn new things and then apply the knowledge on work based projects.
“The development of our people in their current and aspirational roles is important to us. The benefit of this approach is that we are helping people to progress with a great understanding of sewer networks, allowing them to develop further in their current role or alternatively progress to a higher level role or alternative role within our organisation.”
