Storm Eunice, 19/02/2022, 10:30
According to the Met Office we’re now through the worst of the expected bad weather for the Essex and Suffolk areas and #StormEunice has left us.

Although it’s going to continue to be windy and wet this weekend, the weather warnings have passed.

And we’re pleased to say that thanks to the hard work and preparation by our teams over the last few days that we’ve not seen any significant issues with our networks or customers’ water supplies as a result of the weather.

We will be keeping a close eye on our reservoirs, stations and networks over the coming days as we’re still expecting heavy rain and generally poor conditions.

And we will continue to have extra people in our call centre to help anyone that might have any problems.

You can call them on 0345 782 0999 or drop them a private message on social media.

It’s always a good idea to make sure you, or anyone you know who might need extra support during an event like this, are signed up to our Priority Services Register here www.eswater.co.uk/priority

That way we can make sure you get any extra help that you might need.

Thanks again for all of the support you’ve shown us during #StormDudley and #StormEunice.

Storm Eunice update, 18/02/2022, 17:07
Our teams are continuing to work hard to keep the water flowing during the extreme weather conditions we’ve seen across our operating area today.

We’ve seen multiple power failures to a number of our sites over the last few hours, but thanks to the preparation that we put in place, we’ve managed to keep them running on generators and keep the water flowing to our customers.

We’ve also been carrying out checks on our rural and essential sites to ensure they’re operational and this will continue into this evening and overnight.

Customers are advised to make sure that their most up-to-date contact details are saved in our systems, so that we can get in touch if we need to. To do this, please go to - www.eswater.co.uk/register.

Anyone who may need additional support from us is encouraged to sign up to our Priority Services Register here www.eswater.co.uk/priority.

If you have an urgent supply issue, or need to speak to someone in an emergency, please call us on 0345 782 0999.

Please stay safe and thank you for your continuing support.

Storm Eunice update – 18/02/22 – 09:30am
Last night #StormEunice officially arrived in the region, bringing with her some pretty horrible weather conditions.

As yet, we’ve not seen any issues to our networks and water supplies.

We’ve been following the weather forecast closely, and according to the Met Office, we will be seeing a red weather warning in place from 10am this morning - meaning that we can expect to see some incredibly strong winds across all of our operating areas in Essex, Suffolk and the London Boroughs.

Although this will be a tough challenge, we’re as ready and prepared as possible and have taken plenty of steps to keep the water flowing for you.

We’ve topped up our reservoirs to maintain supplies. We’ve put extra generators in place at key pumping stations, to keep the power on in case of power cuts, and we have extra team members ready right across all of our operating areas, to respond if needs be.

We also have extra teams working in our customer service centres right throughout the day to help with your calls.

We’re working with our partners at local authorities, emergency services and UK Power Networks to help support our communities as best we can.

We’ve also made the decision to put all non-essential work on hold. To help keep our people safe but also to make sure we can focus on maintaining your supplies.

Customers are advised to ensure that their most up-to-date contact details are saved in our systems, so that we can get in touch if we need to. To do this, please go to - www.eswater.co.uk/register.

As well as this, customers who may need additional support from us during an event like this are encouraged to sign up to our Priority Services Register here – www.eswater.co.uk/priority.

If you have an urgent supply issue, or need to speak to someone in an emergency, please call us on 0345 782 0999.

#StormEunice is on her way, and according to the @MetOffice, we will be seeing the worst of the weather tomorrow, with high wind speeds and heavy rain expected throughout the day.

We know that some of our partners, such as TAG Essex County Council, Southend Council, Thurrock Council, Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council have issued some very helpful advice, and so here is ours too . . .

We’ve put plans in place to be as prepared as we possibly can during these storms, and we will be doing everything we can to keep the water flowing for you.

We’ve been carrying out extra checks at some of our more rural sites and we have additional teams out and about to help wherever is needed.

We’re keeping a close eye on the weather forecast, as we always do, to make sure we have the right resources in the right locations should it be needed.

Now is a good time for any customers who may need additional support to sign up to our Priority Services Register, so if you have any elderly family members or neighbours, or you know someone who might need some extra support from us during a storm you can register here - www.eswater.co.uk/priority
